B) Imaging:
Radiological imaging has no role in the diagnosis of polycythemia. However, it can confirm the presence of an enlarged spleen.
The spleen is the main site of destruction of aged and deformed cells, and although the spleen isn’t always enlarged in polycythemia unlike myelofibrosis and chronic myeloid leukemia, it can cause severe discomfort to the patient.
