The Rock sings a song from Mona for young cancer patient

Hyrum is one of the many children suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Hyrum’s condition, however, is complicated by Down syndrome.

ALL is a type of cancer that is common among children, cancer affects the bone marrow, making it produce white blood cells that are not strong enough to fight any strange presence in a child’s body, lowering the child’s immune system, and causing regular weakness. Hyrum’s condition is complicated by Down syndrome makes it an even more serious medical issue, because Down syndrome on its own is a condition that requires adequate care.

One of the things that help get Hyrum through the day is watching an animated movie starring Dwayne Johnson, popularly called The rock. Learning about Hyrum and his medical condition, The rock then decided to reach out to the boy by making a video of himself singing a song from Moana for the little boy.

There’s a little 3 year old boy out there named, Hyrum Harris. Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia which is complicated by Down Syndrome. In the fight of his life right now and doing his best to stay strong – by watching MOANA up to 10xs a day because the character he loves, MAUI makes him feel strong. According to Hyrum’s mama, his most important thing to say now is, I STRONG. Yes you are big man. Yes you are. Hyrum, I know I’m a complete stranger to you – who sounds a lot like your hero, MAUI (only with a very large head), but myself along with millions of other strangers who will watch this video are sending you so much love, strength and mana your way. I STRONG. Love, the Rock aka the dude who sounds a lot like Maui.

He went on to say that while fighting for his life, Hyrum Harris draws his motivation to stay strong by watching Moana over and over because of his favourite character, MAUI.

According to Hyrum’s mum, the boy keeps saying to himself that he is strong, and Dwayne Johnson agrees. He captioned his video with a personalised message for Hyrum and asked the little boy to stay strong always.

On her Facebook page, Michaela Brown announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson sent Hyrum a video. She stated that with this act, The Rock has shared a message of hope and pure joy.

It was reported that when Hyrum saw the video, he laughed out loud at The Rock’s head, and whenever Dwayne Johnson mentioned Hyrum’s name, the little boy points to himself, smiled and giggled with joy and hope. Such a message of hope cost nothing, but it is the most powerful and priceless gift.

Hyrum loved the video when he saw it. The video, however, meant even more to Hyrum’s family members who were up all night taking care of the child, the nurses attending to all the sick children, all families across the United States and beyond who were not even present at the hospital. The video is a message to everyone out there, that they are not alone in their struggles.
